Thank You Queen

Hi Wonderful Friend!

Across the pond they are celebrating a fashion icon this weekend. A woman who has nailed her looks faultlessly for 70 years, creating an instantly identifiable template often copied but never duplicated.

She also happens to be the longest ruling monarch in the history of time, btw.

Queen Elizabeth, thank you for showing up and showing out so beautifully.

As with anything spectacular, many are involved. Designer Angela Kelly (photo below) and her team have been with the Queen for the last 28 years. In fact, Angela is the official personal assistant, adviser, and curator to Her Majesty the Queen (jewelry, insignias, and wardrobe).

Unofficially, Kelly is the Queen’s best friend, filling the gaping hole left from the loss of her mother and sister. In fact, Kelly moved into Windsor Castel in a suite next to the Queen during the pandemic and remains to this day.

Kelly is credited for creating the iconic brightly colored suit, brooch, hat, simple, elegant handbag and sensible shoe template. All hats, clothing and shoes are custom made by Kelly’s team and Angela herself is known to break in the shoes so they are perfectly comfortable for the Queen.

Here is her flawless Jubilee look.

Nothing is accidental. Kelly researches each event intensely, there were 300 a year pre-pandemic, according to weather, tone of event and every possible prevention of a wardrobe malfunction. She famously sewed weights into the Queen’s hems to keep the skirts properly in place.

The brightly colored suits are designed to be seen in a crowd and to never offend. For the Olympics, she chose a light pink suit as not to align with any single country.

The Launer bag she carries is stately, elegant and free of any fuss. Very business and, like her, remains something we can count on always.

In 2019, Kelly released a palace approved telling of her brilliant career with the Queen. The Other Side of the Coin.

Enjoy!
