How To Never Make a Mistake Shopping a Sale Again

Hi Wonderful Friend!

Sale season is ON. Stores are marking down their markdowns.

Great for you, right? Only if you keep your head on straight and do exactly what I am about to tell you.

If you don’t, hello to more unworn “great deals” in your wardrobe with the sales tags still on greeting you each day.

So here we go. When you see a marked down price. Ignore it and go directly to the original price.

Let’s do this together….

Here’s a great bag. Proenza Schouler’s Stanton leather shoulder bag. Cute. Practical. Fun. It’s 40% on My Theresa. My eye just wants to focus on the sale price. I must use my powers to focus on the original price-$375-ONLY.

Is this bag worth $375 to me? It doesn’t matter if it fits into what I want to spend today. This is not a budget question. This is a gut reaction and it’s never wrong.

If your gut says, YES, this leather bag is absolutely worth $375, then and ONLY THEN do you buy it for $225, the 40% off sale price. If your gut says NO, delete it from your cart and go back to work and stop shopping on company time. : )

Your gut reaction is never wrong. It’s your key driver to shopping a sale and this is my favorite tip of all Style Tips and it is a joy to hear people use it and feel free and fearless, especially in this scarce shopping environment (more on THAT next week).

Ok, let’s do it again!

Here are some SWEET and completely UNNECESSARY Gianvito Rossi Strappy Nappa Embellished Ankle-Wrap Sandals.

Soooo, keeping an eye on the original price of $995, ask yourself if they are worth is to you. Doesn’t matter what is in your bank account. Doesn’t matter if you can afford them this month or not, does your gut think they are worth $995? If so, GREAT, buy them for $597 at Berdorf Goodman.

If not, again, please get back to work.

Shop safely and empowered!

Enjoy!
